Roslin Moat: Pond work and invasive species control
Advertisement
We will be continuing our previous task work here: removing invasive species and improving the habitat around the curling pond.
About this Event

Roslin Moat is on the restored site of a colliery and brick works. Over 30,000 trees and shrubs were planted at the Moat in 1990, leaving an additional area for plants and wildlife to gradually colonise. There is also an old curling pond which is a haven for aquatic species. The reserve as a whole boasts a good variety of wildflowers, birds and invertebrates, and the woodland is particularly interesting for fungi lovers.

On this visit we will be continuing the work started on previous tasks here: removing invasive species and improving the habitat around the curling pond.

We encourage volunteers to use our minibus for transport. If you live near this task and wish to make your own way you must ring Debbie on 01313370223 to book a space and for joining instructions.

P lease bring your lunch and wear appropriate footwear (boots or wellingtons) and waterproof outdoor clothing.

You can check our website for further information and frequently asked questions.
