EN: Jonas Gerigk has expanded the sound spectrum of his acoustic double bass to create a wide variety of timbres on his instrument while Simon Rose uses his old low B flat baritone saxophone for its timbral and expressive potential. Creating a living music, rather than working towards a fixed product, the duo have an iterative process of: meeting for public performances followed by recording and reflection the next day.
Through listening and reflection this productive work has led to identifying and delineating how specific musical material might be shared and explored. A predominant, emerging outcome of this process has been their shared focus on overtones and exploring the different ways these become shared and interwoven in performance.
