About this Event
We will meet at the Rose Hill Community Centre, before going over to the community woodland planted by Rose Hill local residents and coordinated by the Rose Hill and Iffley Low Carbon Hub.
Trained leaders will show you how to use different methods for recording a variety of wildlife groups. Breaking into groups, we will try and spot as much wildlife as we can! Whether it's plants, birds, pollinators or soil bugs - we're going to find it.
Using the smartphone app iNaturalist, we will upload our observations as part of the City Nature Challenge 2024: Oxfordshire. (NB it's not required to have a smartphone to take part)
To round it all off, we will investigate how much carbon is being locked away by these climate-fighting trees.
No previous experience with wildlife identification or citizen science is necessary! All ages are welcome, and feel free to come along even if you can't stay for the whole afternoon.
Results will be announced on 11th May along with the unveiling of a mural inspired by Rose Hill's Nature, tickets here!
