In her debut album "Rosas y Espinas" (Roses and Thorns) Mexican mezzo-soprano Mariana De la Rosa sings to this universal power. Accompanied by Jean Wiedrick on piano this concert of classical voice and piano explores the many facets of love through a repertoire composed mainly of Mexican and Italian pieces.
From the eternal alternation between love and despair - the roses and the thorns - to sincere friendship and family ties to love transcending even death each chapter of this complex sentiment is revealed with infinite sensitivity. Guided by Mariana De la Rosa's captivating voice the audience is invited to plunge into the pages of this timeless book of love already leafed through by so many souls whatever their experience.
