Please join us for this beautiful candlelight Missa Cantata that is preceded by the traditional candlelight procession to Mass. The 'Rorate' Mass is a votive Mass of the Blessed Virgin. It takes its name from the first word of its introit (entrance chant): “Rorate, caeli, desuper, et nubes pluant justum, aperiatur terra, et germinet Salvatorem.” or “Drop down dew, ye heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain the just: let the earth be opened and bud forth a Saviour.” It is a Mass offered within the season of Advent in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary in which the interplay of light and darkness convey the meaning of Advent.
As the Mass proceeds and sunrise approaches, the church becomes progressively brighter, signifying Christ the Light who shines in the darkness.
All are invited to meet in Fr Bart Hall by 7 am to pick up your candle and join in the short Candlelight Procession to the church! Holy Mass begins upon our arrival in the church. If you are unable to join the Procession, please meet us in the church.
There will be a Parish Brunch following Mass in Fr Bart Hall.
