Rope for Creative Expression This workshop focused on the art of rope will guide participants through exploring their own creative process, bringing those ideas to life.
Denver Rope Salon is excited to announce Living Art: Rope for Creative Expression, a brand new workshop focusing on the creativity and artistry of rope. This hands-on workshop will guide participants through discovering and exploring their own creative process, bringing those ideas to life using rope and other tools, and finding ways to share their creations in fun and exciting ways.
What you can expect from this workshop:
- an introduction to rope as a creative practice, including foundational rope skills to get you started;
- an exploration into your own personal creative process, including tips for overcoming barriers to creative expression;
- a highly interactive and open environment led by two instructors with many years of experience in the world of artistic rope;
- an opportunity to bring your idea(s) from start to finish through guided exercises, including time to lab out different decorative rope techniques and an (optional) mini photoshoot to walk away with some tips on photographing rope.
This is an all-levels workshop that will offer participants at any stage of their rope journey a chance to explore their creative process, and is suitable for individuals, pairs, and/or groups.
Instructor Bios:
Leila Rose (she/her) is a longtime rope enthusiast, performer, and educator with a passion for exploring the multitude of ways to use rope as a tool for connection to self, others, and the world around us. She is the co-founder of Denver Rope Salon, a values-based rope community in Denver, and owner of Earthly Entanglement, a somatics-driven psychedelic integration practice. She strives to create opportunities and spaces for deep exploration and healing, with a holistic focus which centers consent and risk awareness.
Ginger (she/her) is an Afro Latina Houston, Texas native currently living in Denver, Colorado with her Bambino Sphynx cat named Osiris. With a background in sex work and Mature Art creation, she aims to add an artistic flare to kink education. As a Kink & BDSM Student Teacher she has a passion for bringing education that centers black pleasure. A core value of Ginger's work is to help expand and widen kinksters' perception of power exchange, honorific roles and intentions in play. She hopes to help her students feel empowered to pursue self discovery through kink - without the confines of how they 'should' play.
