Rope Burn SF: Valentine's Rope

The Bay Area's only rope skill-share for men who like to tie men*!

Rope burn is a group dedicated to creating a safe space for those interested in learning the art of ropes, every 2nd Thursday of the month! We start with a small workshop for you to learn some basic ties and make some new friends in the process!-- We want to help people create connections and grow the queer rope community through sharing our knowledge and skills! We want this group to be a fun, s*x-positive, relaxed, and informational space, open to all skill levels and sizes.
A suggested donation of $25 is asked to help us continue providing both Rope Events and Education. Donations are on a sliding scale and nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. For beginners, getting started can seem daunting, but we're here to help, and *WE WANT YOU* to come! I've created a handy guide to get you started: www.ropeburnsf.com The group format is as follows:

6:00 - 7:00: Pre Rope Coffee Meetup at The Nosh Box (1116 Folsom St)

7:00 - 7:30: Check in
You'll be able to donate at the door at this time. Lockers will be available on a first come first serve basis(we ask that you please share a locker with your rope partner if you're able to) and you will need to bring your own lock. StopGap does have locks available for purchase if needed.

7:10 - 7:30: Beginner Rope Workshop
We'll be offering a brief walkthrough of the basics of Single/Double Columns for first timers, rope beginners, or people just looking for a refresh. We encourage anyone who is new to attend this, and would love to welcome anyone who wants to help newbies learn or brush up on the basics to join as well.

7:30 - 8:00: Rope Skill Share

8-10: Open Play
Required Items: Rope, Safety Shears, yourself :). We also recommend bringing a bag for your clothes and a lock for the lockers (which are available on a first come first serve basis).
Dress Code: We are a s*x-positive space that encourages you to wear as much or as little as you want! Full nudity or remaining fully clothed is completely okay! There is no "teacher" for this event, though folks will be available to help/offer feedback. Also, feel free to bring any books with you to share with others or to practice ties from. *All male-identified, non-binary, and gender non-conforming persons are invited to share their skills and knowledge!
