About the workshop
Roots & Resins: An Autumn Herbal Workshop
As autumn deepens into winter, plants draw their vitality down into their roots, while trees offer resin for protection and repair. This intimate half-day workshop invites you to slow down, reconnect with the forest, and learn practical, medicinal skills rooted in nature.
Led by me, a qualified Master Medicinal Herbalist and Wild Medicine Maker, this session blends seasonal foraging, hands-on medicine making, and herbal wisdom you can bring into your everyday life.
During the workshop, you will:
- Explore the gifts of roots such as Burdock (Arctium lappa) and Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale)
- Learn to respectfully gather and use Pine resin (Pinus sylvestris)
- Be shown and given the ingredients to make your own pine resin salve – a protective, warming remedy for cuts, scrapes, and winter chests
- Taste seasonal root decoctions and pine needle tea
- Bring your questions about natural healing and herbal medicine
Why join?
1. Reconnect with the Season
Autumn is the season of descent — of letting go and returning to source. You’ll learn how to honour this turning of the wheel by working with nature’s grounding gifts: roots that nourish and strengthen, and resins that protect and heal.
2. Learn Hands-On Herbal Craft
We’ll dig, taste, and create together. Expect the scent of pine and frankincense, the golden glow of burdock root, and the alchemy of transforming raw plant material into beautiful, potent medicine — tinctures, salves, and incense that speak to the soul.
3. Deepen Your Connection to Nature
This isn’t just about herbs — it’s about belonging. You’ll experience how the forest, the soil, and your own breath can bring balance to body and spirit, restoring a sense of calm strength before winter arrives.
4. Take Home What You Make
You’ll leave with your own hand-made herbal creations, detailed notes, and the knowledge to continue your practice of wild, seasonal self-care at home.
5. A Day of Slowness and Soul
Held in a beautiful woodland setting, this workshop is a chance to pause, breathe deeply, and let the natural world remind you of your own resilience and rhythm.
Perfect for:
Anyone seeking to reconnect with nature, learn practical herbal skills, or ground themselves during this inward-turning season.
