A well-being & mindful creativity workshop for women of colour, exploring the beauty & burden of our roots & culture. Step into your power!
About this Event

Join us for a three-day retreat, where you will be guided through an empowering journey exploring your identity and roots. An experience that will enable you to move, walk through nature, meditate and use art/creativity as a form of expression.

As this is a series, you are more than welcome to attend one or all the retreats. We hope you will choose to experience all sessions! Materials will be provided, as well as refreshments and snacks.

At the end of the last session, we will be celebrating the completion of our first Roots & Culture retreat with some Caribbean cuisine (v. option available).

This retreat is for black and brown women to explore who we are, the beauty in our past and the burdens that we have carried because of it. Together, we will rest with creative, mindful and meditative practice and step fully into our power.

We share a history in which there was beauty and struggle. We carry the stories of our Ancestors. As time moves on, we have our own stories too. It can be hard to express these stories and the feelings to others who may not understand. Others include our friends and our elders.

Join us to explore who you are, how strongly you feel and connect to your roots and how we might put the burdens of the past down. Our roots should give us strength. We have so much to be proud of. It’s time to rest, create and step into your power.

The sessions are as follows:

Day 1: Who are you?

Here we will explore what makes you who you are and then who you choose to be.

Day 2: How strong are your roots?

We will discover how much our roots affect our lives today and what we would like to change.

Day 3: Let go of the burdens!

It’s time to put down the burdens that we carry through our blood and our lineage and as mentioned, we will also share a beautiful Caribbean meal together

The retreats will be held in the beautiful venue of Fenton Town Hall. This event is FREE.

If you are curious to discover and share (if you want to), more about yourself. Make time for you, discover some peace with restful & mindful practice and explore your creative side...
