The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation and Midtown Partners, with generous support from Arbor Day Foundation and Amazon, have launched an innovative program to plant and distribute more than 500 trees in the underserved neighborhood of Midtown to provide families with clean air and improved nutrition for generations.
The partnering nonprofits will be installing five fruit tree orchards at schools, community gardens, and a public park from February 26 – March 2 according to the schedule below. Hundreds of additional trees will be distributed, along with training and planting instructions, directly to households in the area to take home.

We hope you will join us in this ground-breaking opportunity!!
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

(The MPCS garden has been reimagined as a Food Forest Learning Garden and Outdoor Classroom. The new 7,500sf Learning Garden will embody permaculture principles, creating a self-sustaining ecosystem that mimics natural forests while producing fresh, nutrient-dense food. This site will serve as both an educational resource for students and a community asset, demonstrating the intersection of ecological stewardship and food production.)

DAY 2: Thursday, 2/27/25 @ 9:30am - Little Samaritan Montessori Center (162 Millsaps Ave.) ***6 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to help students plant 12 trees ***

Just around the corner we are revitalizing two neglected, vacant lots into a 15,000sf Community Urban Farm, turning it into a vibrant hub for community engagement, environmental stewardship, and intergenerational learning.)
DAY 4: Saturday, 3/1/25 @ 9AM - Midtown Charter Primary (301 Adelle). Community members and parents of existing and potential MPCS students and neighbors are welcome to "PLANT YOUR FUTURE".
