RONNIE LYNN PATTERSON, pianist, percussionist, music teacher
Ronnie Lynn Patterson is a jazz pianist and a fully committed autodidact. His passion for the music of Rachmaninoff and Keith Jarrett is evident in his romantic, colorful and beautiful musical poetry. His apprenticeship as a percussionist began at the age of 21, a few years after winning the 1st Caisse-Claire Prize with the Mississippi Allstate Symphonie Orchestra. His first professional engagement as a pianist was with David Newman, the musical director of Ray Charles' band. His albums "Mississippi", "Music" with the Moutin brothers and his interpretations of Morton Feldman won the ffff of Telerama. As a sideman, he was chosen by Aldo Romano to be the pianist in his group "Corners" and then with the great saxophonist, Archie Shepp. This pianist born in Kansas in the United States displays a formidable talent intact or a "Patterson touch" according to the writer, Alain Gerber.
