An exploration of specific plants and how they facilitate deeper levels of healing for the hinengaro, tinana and wairua (mind, body and spirit).
Plants in their wholeness are a bridge. They have the mana to shift your cells and attune your body to a higher path of consciousness. They reflect to you who you are at your core. They will show you where you are now, where you are going and how to get there.
We will be staying at River Ridge Retreat surrounded by the primordial sound of the forest. With its comparative remoteness and stunning vistas, it’s a great destination for our Rongoā Mauri Wānanga.
Rongoā carries the mana and the mauri to penetrate deep into the tinana and flow where it needs to flow to unblock, loosen and release old patterns of energy. Rongoā holds the energetic blueprint of purity. As it flows in the tinana it finds a way to clear stagnation and bring to the surface unresolved conflict within the tinana. When we invite rongoā into the tinana it heats or cools problem areas, it soothes inflamed muscles, ligaments and joints. It has the mana to bring balance and clarity for our wairua.
Rongoā is also a gateway to expanded consciousness. Higher realms of consciousness are accessible to experience the Truth of our reality. We will be working with specific rākau (plants) to access higher dimensions.

Joanne is a Rongoā Māori healer at MAURIKURA and has been healing for nearly 20 years. She works with traditional plant medicine and draws upon the ancient traditions and life-force of the ngahere to facilitate healing.
Joanne and her team work closely with clients at her whare hauora MAURIKURA in West Auckland. She also delivers workshops and wānanga on Rongoā Mauri regularly.
Through Rongoā Māori, we are able to heal from the traumas of the past & connect with the natural world, embodying our spiritual connection to Papatūānuku.
