About this Event

Join Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship as we celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week! Events will be held across campus from November 14-18, and this is one you don't want to miss!

Trent Kitsch, MBA ’07, is a serial entrepreneur, and founder of the popular men’s apparel brand SAXX.

Born and raised in Kelowna, BC, Kitsch, Kitsch completed his MBA at the Ivey Business School at Western University. It was during that stint in London that Kitsch invented the idea for a high-end men’s underwear. His new company, SAXX, was pitched at Ivey’s MBA Business Plan Competition in 2007 and while it didn’t take first-place, Kitsch would go on to land one of the biggest deals on the popular CBC Show Dragons’ Den.

Having sold SAXX in 2016, Kitsch began exploring the growing cannabis industry and co-founded Doja Cannabis Company in 2015. Renamed HIKU brands after a series of acquisitions, Kitsch and his co-founders sold the company to Canopy Growth for approximately $630 million. Throughout his success, Kitsch has maintained the belief that there is no substitute for hard work and dedicated focus.

He is also the co-founder of Kitsch Wines with his wife, Ria, who has been integral to his journey. An avid baseball fan and former player, Kitsch has competed at NCAA Division 1 level, and was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in 1997.

A dedicated family man with two children, Kitsch is also the brother of two-time Canadian Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Kelsey Ramsden.
