Ron Hardt started playing guitar and singing at the age of 13. In his early 20’s, while managed by a local San Gabriel Valley recording studio, his popular 70’s band Mickey Ratt played many gigs at local parks and community center dances with Alex and Eddie Van Halen’s band then known as Mammoth (before they became the infamous Van Halen). Since those days, Ron has continued to hone his skills with his own band The Stratocats, and has played with numerous other local favorites such as Crossroads, Johnny Starr and the Galaxy, Good Rockin’ Daddy, including musical sessions with keyboard extraordinaire Russell Ferrante of The Yellow Jackets, Blues Icon Floyd Dixon who wrote Hey Bartender resurrected by the Blues Brothers, and Tommy Salyers from the Laurie Morvan Blues Band. He enjoys and listens to many styles of music making him a true musical chameleon.
Ron concentrates on songs by the great songwriters of his generation giving the listener a unique enjoyable experience from a wide variety of different artists such as, The Beatles, James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Elton John, Billy Joel to name a few. He also plays a lot of familiar forgotten songs one might not expect to hear. The audience just never knows what they might hear.
