TOM BLACKWELL
Now based on Teesside, Tom Blackwell emerged from the Manchester folk club circuit, where he discovered the country, blues and gospel music that would become the foundations of his work.
Between 2010-2011 a succession of homemade recorded demo collections garnered somewhat of a cult following. In 2012 The Viper label of Liverpool (Edgar Jones) released a compilation of these tracks. The record received support from BBC Radio 2 & 6 Music.
After a tumultuous start to 2014, Blackwell found himself embarking on a 3 month pilgrimage of America. Armed only with a guitar and the clothes on his back, he travelled thousands of miles over rail and bus, before a chance meeting in Nashville with sound engineer Matt Wyman led to the recording of Tyrone The Gun. The album found critical acclaim and named as one of Country Music People magazine’s albums of the year in 2015
In 2018 he decided to undertake an archive project to document his early material in the barest of forms. The ‘Memphis Volumes’ were just that, hushed vocal and guitar takes captured in various Merseyside dwellings onto an old Tascam cassette recorder.
His second official long player, Regency Cafe was released in the late summer of 2023
A prolific writer with a visceral and dynamic performance style, Blackwell has been performing across the UK and beyond for the last 15 years, honing his craft both on and off stage.
PAUL NAZOLE
Paul Nazole is a singer/songwriter from Liverpool of Italian descent, who’s musical style is built upon intricate and expressive guitar playing and poetic lyricism, weaving together sounds from folk, rock and psychedelia. Influenced by local luminaries such as The La’s and Michael Head.
Paul is well known in Liverpool as an accomplished guitarist having guested and been a member of an impressive list of well loved local bands such as ; The Sneaky Nixon’s, The Stamp, Marvin Powell and Motel Sundown. Paul is now releasing music under his own name, which began with his debut single release ‘Nebuchadnezzar’ in March 2024.
EDGAR JONES
Also known as Edgar 'Summertyme' Jones, Edgar ‘Jones’ Jones' musical path began as frontman and founder of Liverpool band The Stairs, championed by the likes of Elvis Costello and signed to Go! Discs, then also the home of future collaborators Paul Weller and The La’s. The Stairs debut single 'W**d Bus' and album Mexican R 'n' B, became classics of their time and the band recently enjoyed a much lauded reunion.
Through The Isrites and on to The Big Kids, Edgar’s muse was restless, but by 2005, he seemed to have found the perfect palate for his influences not to mention the players to play the tunes. Jazz, rock’n’roll, soul, funk and doo wop were smeared across debut solo album Soothing Music For Stray Cats, which was released to critical acclaim.
Edgar has achieved legendary cult status as an artist in his own right, and has played with the great and the good including Paul Weller, St Etienne and Lee Mavers, “A form of National Service” to quote Edgar himself.
CAITLIN GILLIGAN
Scottish folk musician Caitlin Gilligan hails from the rolling hills of rural Galloway. Though now based in Liverpool, her songs still echo the wildness of her youth. Weaving age-old folk songs into sets of bare-boned and poetically-crafted originals, she demonstrates refreshing insight whilst simultaneously summoning the voices of times gone by. She draws much inspiration from folk giants such as Anne Briggs, Nick Drake and Lankum as well as traditional vocal music of Scotland, Ireland and America.
She has recently joined forces with viola player Charli Wild creating a live experience full of soulful drones and stirring melodies to accompany Caitlin's skilled guitar playing and haunting harmonium.
Caitlin has played alongside artists such as Martin Carthy, Nora Brown, The Unthanks, Sam Amidon and Jerron Paxton. 2024 saw the release of her highly anticipated EP 'Thin Places'which draws a lot of inspiration from her childhood home of Galloway, Scotland.
Caitlin is currently working on her debut album at the amazing Sloe Flower Studio in Chester, UK which is due to be released in 2026.
