We will be traveling on a 10 foot wide paved trail from the YMCA in Milford to Kensington Park and back. Traveling approx. 18-20 miles at 12-14 mph through shady trees along the Huron River and around the beautiful sparkling Kent Lake (clock-wise).Rollin' round the river means rolling hills my friends. Please know how to use your gears! This will make it a much more fun and leg efficient ride to tackle those hills. We'll stop a little after half way for a short rest/bathroom brake at the nature center and if all goes well your group leader will have a surprise for you! This is a No-Drop ride.
Meeting place is at 5:45 Carls Family YMCA - 300 Family Dr.
Park on the east side of the lot closest to the trail. Ride starts at 6:00
Required Gear:
•Your bike in proper working condition!
• HELMET! NO exceptions!
• White Headlight, Red Taillight
• Flat Kit (spare tube, pump or CO2 inflator and tire lever or multi-tool with appropriate tools for your bike)
Recommended Gear:
• Cell phone
• Water, snacks
• Weather appropriate clothing (Jacket, gloves, etc.)
CycleFit in Fenton can tune-up your bike and has all the supplies you need!
Ride Etiquette:
• We roll out at 6:00. Please arrive early enough to ready your bike and helmet on. Thanks
• We share the trail with walkers and bikers so please call out traffic: "Walker Up" and/or "Biker up." When you hear this called out it is your responsibility to move to the right side of the trail and ride single file. We pass the slower traffic on the left and it is considerate to either ring your bell or say "On your left" to the walker or biker you are passing.
*No-Drop ride means we don't leave anyone behind and occasionally stop to collect all of the riders. If you are unclear on how to use your gears please feel free to ask Heather and she will be happy to help you!
Any Questions can be directed to Heather Durham per messenger
