About this Event
…Oh, it’s such a Perth-ect day…
What’s the Perth-ect way to spend a Saturday afternoon? At a bike shop! Rolling with the Punctures is coming to Perth. Part of the grand tour after the World Premiere in Glenelg, the bigish city debut in Edinburgh and the "Carnegie Hall eat your heart out" Stenton Village Hall and other places as well.
It's a chill afternoon at the excellent bike up-cyclers The Bike Station - I’ll be doing the talk from 4pm. Get along earlier in the day to get a go with the bike stands, tools and expertise of their mechanics to fix your own bike and/or check out their second hand bikes, parts and gear for sale! Fix your own is open from 10am.
Rolling with the Punctures LIVE is a talk about:
Hunting for Roman aqueducts, learning the ancient Kanun laws of Albania, meeting the Amazigh people of Tunisia. Cycling in remote parts of the most landmined country in the world. Sandstorms, scorpions, midnight boars, real forests and a whole load of sweet sweet grav’.
Coming face to face with the climate and refugee crisis.
There's also a few tales of inspiring people met along the way.
All accompanied by pictures of some beautiful places - more often than not with Jo ‘Surly-you-cant-be-serious’ King posing in-front of them.
I will also 'mention' getting lots of punctures, and some silly puns from this 7 month, 8000km, almost thirteen Everests and an uncountable number of ice creams bimble/adventure/holibob/jaunt.
Tickets are Pay What You Feel, with 10% going towards the good work of The Bike Station helping more people access bikes. You can donate when you get your ticket through Eventbrite, or in cash on the day.
