Join us for Swansea City Roller derby's latest 6 week beginners course! Every week its a 2 hour session led by our experienced members of the team where you will learn the ropes on the amazing sport that is Roller Derby.
From learning to stop, change direction and fall safely you will get to grips with the basic fundamentals on how to skate in any setting. Further into the course you will also be introduced to more Roller Derby specific skills always in a supportive environment and surrounded by people who have completed this very intake course before.
Being amongst the team you will also become familiar with the game itself, the rules and hear all about the experiences that come with entering this amazing community.
Whether you have been skating for a long time or you've never even been on wheels before- we will welcome you to our new intake course. It's a great chance to try out a new sport or to channel your skating skills into something more competitive. Even if you just want to take this course as an opportunity to try a new challenge- we'd love to have you!
Our intake course is for those aged 18 and above. As a gender inclusive sport Swansea City Roller Derby welcomes anyone who is female identifying and including non-binary individuals (in accordance with WFTDA requirements and gender statement).
The course itself costs £50. Included in this price is free kit hire- skates, helmet and all pads. Following the completion of the course you will have the opportunity to then join the team as a full member.
