About this Event
Whether you've been roller skating on quads for a years or a few months, you do not want to miss out on this exclusive one-time workshop with one of Toronto's finest roller dancers, Keegan Shim aka Shimshimmaa.
Not only will you be learning how to improve your roller dance technique, but you will also connect with other skaters for a two hour open level workshop focused on demistifying some of the complex looking dance skate moves you see online. You will come out with more confidence, control and drills you can practice so you can get one step closer to the roller dancer you want to be.

Keegan a.k.a. Shim is a roller skater and dancer from Toronto, Canada, representing Great On Skates and JamFam Crew. He is the founder of MiddleworX Roller Dance company which is an educational hub that promotes the art form of dance skate in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.
Shim has been rolling since 2018 and has built a unique style adding elements from his street dance background into his skating. He has grown to become a passionate community builder as you can find him facilitating events, teaching classes, and hosting practice sessions around his city - all which provide an environment for all new and experienced skaters to develop their skills and have fun.
Shim has been featured on news segments such as Breakfast Television, CTV, BlogTO and has worked with musical artists such as Maya Killtron, Sean Jones (of the Canadian R&B band "In Essence"), Liyah, TRP.P, and Jassa Dhillon. He has also had the opportunity to travel to different skate events globally, such as Icy Hot (Columbus, OH), Rolling Round Up (Houston, TX), and Rolling In The Carolinas (Charlotte, NC), Independence Roll (Chicago, IL), and Skate Love (Barcelona, Spain).
Continual learning is the mission and he hopes he can do his part in preserving roller skate culture so it can persist for many years to come.
When Keegan is not roller skating, he is a full-time commercial real estate agent.
WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR:
This workshop is suitable for all levels of roller skaters however it might not be suited for absolute beginners.
Prerequists : Skating forward, backward, stopping. Some roller dance experience is a plus but is not mandatory.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
Shim will go over his method of explaining how to improve your freestyle roller dance as well as sharing techniques on how to have better control of your roll.
