Join Karen Frances Eng — artist, writer, and lifelong skater — for a 5-week roller skating series designed to build confidence, flow, and fun. Karen stopped skating for 40 years and started again in midlife — so she especially encourages adults of all ages to come give it a try.
Karen Frances Eng is an artist and writer whose work spans digital and performance practices. An avid skater as a child, Karen stopped skating for 40 years and returned in midlife, discovering movement on skates as a source of joy, vitality, and creative expression. She emphasizes safety, confidence, and play in her teaching, and warmly encourages older adults to join in. It’s never too late to start rolling.
Intermediate skaters ready to explore musicality
For those who can already roll steadily, stop, and turn — this class explores rhythm, foundational footwork, and developing personal style. We’ll learn together, moving with music and discovering how skating becomes dance.
When: Thursdays, Sept 11 – Oct 9, 6:45PM -7:30PM

Cost: $25 drop-in | $100 for 5-week series
Capacity: Limited to 10 students per class
💡 A quick note about safety: Roller skating is joyful, but it also involves falling! We’ll practice how to fall safely and build skills step by step. Please bring your own skates and protective gear — wrist guards are strongly recommended, and helmets/knee/elbow pads are welcome too. By signing up, you acknowledge that you are skating at your own risk.
