Roll & Rest Friday, 3 May 2024 A feel good way to end the week: have a roll around! Rolling is a term used for self massage using balls, aka amazing, deep relief! Even if you have your own set of balls, most people have the best intentions but don't do this at home. So come along for a whole hour of glorious massage, stretching & rolling around, then a guided relaxation.
Self-massage: using balls & breath work we’ll roll all over, toes to top; exploring, softening & releasing tension & adhesions in the myofascial network. I'll guide you through safe ways to explore tension using balls in different ways in a range of positions. Also great to learn as a pre or post workout tool. One bonus of this type of 'massage' is that you can control the pressure yourself using ball, body weight, movement options & use of the wall or floor. Yoga Tune Up Therapy balls available for purchase in class.
Yoga nidra: for deeper release we finish lying down with a guided relaxation. Yoga nidra, like a 'yogic sleep', is a powerful tool for deep relaxation and healing. Everyone is welcome - no experience with yoga or meditation necessary - this is a guided practice, making it very accessible. Yoga nidra is a deeply restorative, regenerative experience for body & mind.

ABOUT KASHA:
I was drawn to yoga for mental & physical ‘space’. Now yoga is like a best buddy – it goes with me everywhere & has taught me so much. One key lesson I return to on my mat is to slow down and remember we are human beings rather than human doings.
I've been teaching movement for 30 years and yoga for 15. I especially love leading this kind of slow practice that's so accessible and beneficial on many levels. I practice yoga through teachings from Ashram Yoga 500hr and am influenced by my background in public health, fitness instructing, pilates and many styles of yoga.
