In this monthly special you can look forward to exercises from MyoYin (the combination of Yin yoga and SMFR (myofascial self-massage). We will roll and massage different areas of your body and incorporate mobilization exercises. You have the opportunity to try out and practice the elements of fascial- (self) massage with the help of fascia/ spiky balls to release tension held in your tissues. You will be guided step by step and won't need any previous knowledge. Attendance in previous Roll and Release workshops is not necessary to be a participant in this monthly opportunity to roll and release. In every special we will mandatory take care of the shoulders, which are a constant problem for many of us and the reason for head, neck and back pain. In addition, further exercises will be practice, like gentle mobilization excercise, some passive stretches and of course a relaxation phase (Savasana).
Before each special you will have the opportunity to contact me and let me know your exercise requests for the upcoming date. A regular roll and release practice could help you counteract tension-related pain and increase your well-being. For our practice we will use tennis balls for the massage, as well as occasionally harder fascia/spiky balls and soft foam balls for the face massage. These types of balls will be provided to you, as well as mats and all other yoga props such as blocks, blankets, pillows, etc. If you would like to practice with a different type of ball, you are welcome to bring your equipment with you.
