Join the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association as it celebrates 50 years and honors its 22nd annual Roger Pynn Great Communicator, Georgia Turner, executive director of the West Volusia Tourism Advertising Authority (WVTAA). The chapter also will install its new officers at this gala event on the picturesque Rock Bottom Brewery rooftop over drinks and light hors d'oeuvres included in the cost.
Tickets are available until October 8 for $50 or $20 for college students. This event was RESCHEDULED from September 26 to October 10 due to Hurricane Helene.
Turner has more than 40 years of experience in journalism public relations marketing and sales. Since December 2016 she has been the Executive Director of the WVTAA where she is responsible for developing marketing and advertising programs to increase tourism in the 14 communities in West Volusia County. Georgia held marketing and public relations positions at several destination marketing organizations in Florida and Alabama before landing in West Volusia. For 10 years she owned and operated Georgia Turner Group. Her client list at this marketing and communications agency included convention and visitors bureaus chambers of commerce and regional and state tourism agencies.
The 22nd Annual Great Communicator Award is judged by past recipients reaching from its origins in 1999. In 2022 the award was renamed to honor Roger Pynn APR CPRC Fellow PRSA a past state president of FPRA and retired co-owner of Curley & Pynn Public Relations Management Orlando.
The Volusia/Flagler Chapter of FPRA now in its 50th year is one of 16 chapters of the Florida Public Relations Association.
