In 1963, Esther gives birth to Roland, the youngest of a large family of Mizrahi Jews in France. He is born with a clubfoot that prevents him from standing and walking, but Esther is determined that her son learns to walk and leads an extraordinary life. With a little help from the pop star Sylvie Vartan, Roland grows into adulthood and requires greater independence from his mother.
Spanning decades of trials and life’s miracles, this film tells a true story (based on Roland Perez’s bestselling autobiography) with humor and drama, about the boundless love between parents and children.
