The 2024 Two Moors Festival opens with one of Britain’s best-loved singers, Roderick Williams, who together with Festival regular, pianist Christopher Glynn, performs Ralph Vaughan Williams’s Songs of Travel, a setting of words by poet Robert Louis Stevenson. As well as exploring travel and folklore from around Britain, Roderick and Chris will give the world premiere of a new song cycle 'The Moon, the Moss & the Mushrooms' by Freya Waley-Cohen, setting poetry by Coleridge and other texts exploring Exmoor’s unique folklore. Freya’s piece – commissioned by The Two Moors Festival – will be an undoubted highlight of this year’s Festival.
Roderick sang at the Coronation of King Charles III and has been described as "our greatest living baritone" by the Daily Telegraph.
