Changes to the Fair Work Act from 26 August 2024
New restrictions on engaging casuals and subbies, plus the new Right to Disconnect law.<h4>

Come along on Wednesday, 4 September and get up, to date on the changes to the Fair Work Act that will impact you. These include:
- Changes to the definition of casual employment
- Changes to the rules regarding casuals converting to permanent employment
- Changes affecting the ability to engage sole trader subcontractors, and
- The inclusion of the new Right to Disconnect law.
You’ll hear from our in-house General Manager – Workforce Services, Craig Dearling, on how these changes will impact your work from 26 August and what you need to do to.
BUSSQ will provide an update on the superannuation changes from 1 July 2024, including the superannuation guarantee rate and limits that you can contribute to superannuation each year. They will also share with you when you can access your super, Australian retirement statistics and how much money you need to retire.

General Manager – Workforce Services | Master Builders
Craig's role sees him lead our WR, WHS and eDocs teams who give advice, support, and assistance to members. He also provides input on state and federal government policy, and sits on government boards and committees.
Craig has a Bachelor of Commerce and holds formal qualifications in Industrial Relations, HR, WHS and Training, in addition to over 20 years of industry experience.
Craig originally worked with Master Builders from 2006 to 2011, and rejoined us in 2022 after working with a major national commercial construction company.
