About the Instructors:

Manuel Oria: Puerto Rico-based Yoga facilitator with 7+ years of experience in leading yoga classes and movement education. With an academic background in Human Biology and specialization in the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga method, Functional Range Conditioning, and Oxygen Advantage Functional Breathing, the information shared in my classes and workshops is curated with a decentralized approach to go in and beyond tradition for high-quality instruction and reach to all sectors of the population. Since 2017, lead the 200-Hour Teacher Certification Program for Progressive Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga School in Puerto Rico and internationally. My passion is in the craft of the class and being able to connect truthfully with the students through all types of rhetoric tools. Observing the community grow with a solid foundation in body movement education is my goal as a professional in this industry.

Christiane Coste Cacho: Christiane is an activist, yoga practitioner and traveling teacher from Mexico City. With a background in Human Rights’ Studies, she was first drawn to yoga as a path for healing and empowerment, to support her work with victims of abuse throughout Latin America.

In her travels, she was able to learn and practice with diverse teachers and lineages of yoga; finding her passion in Progressive Ashtanga, and Rocket Vinyasa Yoga; styles in which she has trained for thousands of hours -and continues to learn from her mentors. Christiane’s teaching philosophy is based on approaching the practice with curiosity, creativity and openness to explore what is possible on and off the mat. Her belief in the transforming nature of the practice drives her to share it with her students, and work with non-profit organizations to create a safe space for BIPOC people, to explore yoga as a vehicle for empowerment.

Brendan Smullen: Brendan is a Seattle-based Ashtanga and Rocket Teacher. He found yoga while coping with anxiety in High School. Generally practicing Hatha, he kept a consistent practice and began to develop a curiosity for new postures and transitions. Brendan is a continuous learner and has trained with David Robson and Jelena Vesic of the Ashtanga Yoga Center of Toronto, Kino Macgregor and Tim Feldman of the Miami Life Center, Ty Landrum of the Yoga Workshop as well as David Swenson, David Garrigues and Day Christensen. Brendan received his 300 hour training in Intermediate Series Ashtanga and Hand Balance through the Roots Love Program of Washington DC in collaboration with Marie Bell Perez Rivera and Adrian McCavitt. He is a member of the Rocket Collective and is a student of both David Kyle (PR) and Steve Pyka (CA). Brendan focuses on delivering succinct cues to allow students to develop a deep connection to their practice and stay embodied in their movements.
