About this Event
Join JBRPC, and NYC Parks, for a shoreline cleanup event supported by Councilmember Selvena Brooks-Powers and Assemblymember Khaleel Anderson. Volunteers will remove harmful debris from this beautiful shoreline. Volunteers will help remove trash and debris from the shoreline and surrounding park while enjoying incredible views of Jamaica Bay!
Rockaway Community Park is comprised of 253-acres of open space on Jamaica Bay. The park offers visitors incredible views of Jamaica Bay and is a prime location for bird watching. Beyond the natural areas within Rockaway Community Park, the park is home to a number of active recreation opportunities, including playgrounds, basketball courts, ballfields. Volunteers will help remove harmful debris from this important shoreline!
Gloves, bags, tools will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and bring their own water and sunscreen. Event is rain or shine.
