THE BANDS:

The Rhythm Shakers (US)

If you’re a seasoned fan of old school Rock’n’Roll, you’ll realize that these four Americans are in a league of their own. What really sets this band apart is the howling vocals projected by the flaming red haired, front singer, Marlene Perez. With a voice and energy that's closer to R’n’B legends like Tina Turner and Amy Winehouse than the dusty ol’ sounds of the 1950s, Perez takes the breath away from any crowd trying to keep up. The echo drenched sound stays true to Rock’n’Roll of the late 1950s, but The Rhythm Shakers stand out from the crowd by how comfortably they are living in the present.

If you were to describe the perfect rock 'n' roll sound today, you’d have to begin with a tight, grooving rhythm section, like the one delivered by bassist, Victor Mendez, and Drummer, Brook Emelio. When you add to that a technically virtuoso on the guitar to fire away riffs and solos with meteoric speed and surgeon-like precision, you are on a winner!. Once Perez comes into the mix with her masterful vocal lines and mesmerizing stage presence, the sound is complete. The Rhythm Shakers are not afraid to seek new musical heights while respecting the fundamentals of their chosen genre. This is one live experience you will not want to miss!

Sonny West

Mr. West might look exactly like your favourite rockabilly guitar idol, wearing bold suits, slinging a big box Gretsch guitar… But the moment he plugs in and starts ripping out lightning fast guitar licks or steps up to the microphone, you’ll immediately discover that he possesses immense talent and versatility as an artist. Not only does he deliver his performance with great passion, skill and energy, he effortlessly spans form Elvis inspired Rock ’n’ Roll, to guitar instrumentals and even smooth rock ballads. One thing is certain, you will never get bored during a Sonny West set!

The Bullets

If a potent mix of rockabilly with influences from hillbilly, stompin’ blues and garage sounds like something you could be into, then be sure that The Bullets will deliver! Their debut album, Sons of the Gun, did not disappoint when realised in March 2013, and neither does their live act. Their debut album went on to win a gold disc award, and their tunes are being played on national radio stations in numerous countries. That success kickstarted the London-based trio’s live tour headlining major rockabilly festivals throughout the UK and Europe.

Rhythm Sophie & the Jeffrey Hannox Gang (DE)

Germany might be a republic, but the country on the other side of the North Sea do have a queen when it comes to Rhythm & Blues, Rockabilly and Swing! She goes by the name of Miss Rhythm Sophie, and tirelessly tours the European continent and beyond with her young, irresistible and authentic stage presence. Her mix of 1940s and 1950s Rhythm & Blues and Rock’n’Roll brings the energy of the golden age of Rock and Blues right up to our time. With a voice that could have come straight off a 1950s record, and an updated sound that blows away crowds with a rare authenticity, Rhythm Sophie is sure to charm everyone in the audience this night in The Passenger Shed. Backed up by the Jeffrey Hannox Gang, the queen of Rhythm & Blues and Rockabilly will be taking Bristol by storm — just wait a hear for yourself!

The Deadshots

If you think Rockabilly and Rock’n’Roll are dead genres from the 1950s, then you haven’t heard the wild, 21st century Rockabilly hailing from The DeadShots Tower, North Worcestershire! Over the last few years they have been lighting up stages and audiences across the country with their brilliant original compositions and occasional covers of the tunes (old or new) you least expect to hear. If you’re not familiar with The DeadShots, do yourself a favour and take a listen to their latest album, Wanted, from 2019. From the first week of its release this potent mix of Rockabilly and Rock’n’Roll got attention and airtime across international radio stations — and not without reason!

The DeadShots deliver a stage show like no other Rockabilly act; with a starch contrast between the wild shenanigans of Jack Smith, performing the part of backup singer, dancer and drummer all at once! And the collected songwriter Billy Jenkins, oozing cool while letting his fingers do the talking — ripping out blistering licks on the lead guitar without breaking a sweat. Joined on stage by vocal powerhouse, Matt Waterhouse on lead vocals, and the bearded beast, Jim Jenkins slapping like a madman on the double bass. The DeadShots are bound to rock your socks off!

Lobo Jones & the Rhythm Hounds (UK)

With a set consisting of high octane Rockabilly tunes supported by the exceptional fretwork of Morgan Willis on lead guitar, this four piece delivers a great spectrum of red hot Rockabilly rhythms. From thumbing double bass driven rockers to slightly more composed compositions, Lobo Jones and the Rhythm Hounds keeps the music alive, dynamic and interesting throughout their show. The young frontman, Lobo Jones, adds a youthful energy perfectly balanced with the seasoned musicianship of the Rhythm Hounds behind him. Once the hounds have been released, they deliver an impressive wall of sound that will move even the most stubborn and earthbound audience members out on the dance floor. No surprise that crowds are so into Lobo Jones and his rhythmic hounds — they know how to turn any night into a party!

The Retrobaits

The Retrobaits from Daventry, UK, features the tested and proven Rockabilly lineup of guitar, double bass and drums and that is all they need to rock audiences with a style and versatility of their own.

They have performed at such notable events as Viva Las Vegas, Atomic Vintage Festival, Viva East and The Rhythm Riot and take inspiration from Old School Rockabilly, Doo Wop, Western Swing, Golden Age Rock N Roll, Rhythm & Blues, and even as diverse genres as Ska, to forge their own signature style, often being described as Neo Rock N Roll, raw and 100% authentic.

The Crawlin’ KingSnakes

Bristol’s own Crawlin’ KingSnakes know how to rock a venue with their earth-shattering Rockabilly sound and great selection of the best Rock’n’Roll tunes stretching over more than half a century. If you have been looking to get your fix of greased up Rockabilly and retro Rock’n’Roll infused with references to Hot-Rods, pinups, vintage trucks and racing motorcycles, look no further than The Crawlin’ KingSnakes! — With thumbing double bass lines thundering over grooving drum beats, accompanied by echo-soaked Gretsch guitar licks, the sound of this four-piece will crawl up on you like the rattle of a king snake! The wobbly, tremolo enhanced chords will take you right back to the Rock’n’Roll anno 1950s and beyond! So get ready for the most rockin’ jivers, strollers and boppers
