Rock and Rise is an annual summer climbing festival for women and people of expansive genders, which takes place on the unceded territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh First Nations (Squamish, BC, Canada). Our next event will be July 5th to 7th 2024.Our mission is to create a safe and inclusive space where we can shatter glass ceilings of social expectations, support one another and rise together through a shared passion for rock climbing.
The weekend will kick off Friday evening with opening presentations, followed by two days of climbing and camping in the world-class granite destination! Expect a variety of exciting skills clinics taught by a diverse and talented roster of certified female and gender-expansive guides, a panel discussion on inclusivity, inspiring personal stories, sponsor gear demos, an artist market, music, dancing and more!
We welcome all backgrounds and all climbing experience levels from complete beginner to expert. To make the event more accessible, we are offering 1/4 of tickets free of charge through scholarship programs which include camping, a skills clinic, and rental gear. While financial challenges are the primary criteria, other access barriers are taken into consideration, such as giving priority to folks belonging to marginalized communities.
Join us for an empowering weekend in celebration of diversity in the outdoors while we redefine the stereotype of what a climber should look like. A huge thank-you to our 2024 title sponsor Ground Up and our major supporting sponsor Climb On.
