It is our great pleasure to announce the upcoming October Wine Dinner and the very special guest who will be joining us from Tuscany – the famed Marco Ricasoli of Rocca di Montegrossi! Marco’s family history is that of legend, and his wines have gained him acclaim worldwide from critics and collectors alike. We are honored that he is flying to Michigan to join our wine group, for what promises to be a most memorable evening. Please join us for an exquisite gathering of fine wine & classic scratch-made Italian cuisine.
About Marco Ricasoli
Marco Ricasoli Firidolfi was born in 1966 into one of the families that helped shape the history of Chianti Classico. Marco takes his heritage very seriously, as his family can trace their wine-making roots back over 40 generations to the very land he works today. After studying viticulture in France and gaining experience in the family estate, he decided in the early 1990s to embark on his own personal project, starting Rocca di Montegrossi, to which he has since devoted himself fully and with great passion. Over the last 30 years he has built a reputation through his estate-based wine with meticulous, organic and sustainable vineyard practices. Everything is done with purpose. The wines are truly grown and vinified through low interventionist wine-making techniques. The proof of his efforts is in his top Chianti Classico Gran Selezione named after its site, San Marcellino, which is heralded as one of the all-time greatest Chianti Classico vineyard sites. He has dedicated two of his wines to notable ancestors, who put his family in the position to pursue and achieve his current success and notoriety as one of the best in modern day Chianti Classico. He is the father of two children, Virginia and Filippo, to whom he is already beginning to pass on his love for viticulture, hoping to inspire the same respect for the land and passion for the craft that has guided his own journey. A tireless traveler, he is also a jogging and tennis enthusiast in his rare moments of free time.
The Rocca di Montegrossi Wine Dinner event is $185 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Due to the exclusive nature of these events, a credit card is required for booking. Any reservations not cancelled within 48 hours of the event will be subject to a charge of $100 per person
