Walk along local Revolutionary War history! ROC is joining through-hikers on the Overmountain Victory Trail, a route that was traveled by Revolutionary soldiers on their way to Kings Mountain, SC where the Patriots won a decisive victory. The hikers, coming all the way from Virginia, will arrive in Rutherfordton on October 3rd and continue their trek South on Sunday the 5th leaving from Kiwanis Park in Rutherfordton. We will hike with them along the road to the site of Norris Park, where we will check out the development there and the new hiking trail. Then, the hikers will continue on their trek and our group will head back to Kiwanis Park to conclude the hike. Expect to walk ~3 miles total on paved road with a few steep slopes.When: Sunday, October 5th at 8AM
