About this Event
Our musicians will fill the day with the best of live jazz music and dance. By holding the event here, we are connecting Rochester to its own rich jazz history, a history that has its roots in the music of enslaved people. It's fitting that the event takes place during Black Music Month and in the same month that we celebrate the 160th anniversary of freedom from slavery, June 19, 1865.
Your donations will be split between two worthy Rochester 501c3 organizations:
The Black Community Focus Fund is accepting donations for the construction of the Minister Franklin D. Florence Civil Rights Heritage Park, located in Baden Park. The new park will document the Black Freedom Struggle here.
The second organization is Agape Haven of Abundance, which supports school children in one of Rochester's most vulnerable zip codes. The program gives children a safe, nurturing, and educational environment, with fun, experiential learning activities and programming.
