We are organising this charity football match in memory of two incredible men - my Dad, Robert Davis, and his great friend, Mike Hedges.In November 2022, we sadly lost my Dad to a sudden heart attack. He was a huge character, deeply loved by everyone who knew him, and someone who brought people together through his passion for football, laughter, and community. In 2024, we then lost Mike to cancer - another truly special person, a loyal friend, and someone who meant so much to so many.
To celebrate their lives and raise money for causes close to their stories, we are hosting a Charity Football Match at Nicholas Wanderers FC on Saturday 20th June 2026. The match will see “Robs Reds” take on “Hedges Holte Enders” in what promises to be a great day full of football, fun, and community spirit.
The event will kick off at 12pm (gates open at 11am) at Dundridge Lane, Bristol, BS5 8SE. It will be a family-friendly day with a BBQ, bar, raffle, and more — all coming together to support two fantastic charities.
We are proud to be raising money for the British Heart Foundation and St Peter’s Hospice. These organisations do incredible work supporting individuals and families through some of the toughest times, and this is our way of giving something back in memory of Dad and Mike.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference and help us honour their legacy in the best way we can — bringing people together, just like they always did.
