? Get ready for Robot inspired activities at the Museum of Somerset! ?Tuesday 27 August, Wednesday 28 August & Thursday 29 August we are joined by Taunton's Player Ready. They will be setup with some laptops for children 7 and over to enjoy programming and creating their own time travel experience within Minecraft.
Down in the learning space experiment creating a craft that moves! Create a model hand and wiggle its fingers then see if you can make a card dog that walks by itself.
Check out the intergalactic drawing table and be inspired while surrounded by 60 years of Doctor Who art ?, regenerate as the doctor in our dressing up area ?then snap a selfie ? with a Dalek in front of the TARDIS jungle. Plus adventure through time and space and help to save the world with our new time travel trail. Unlock the secret code and win a prize! ?
⏰ The museum is open Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 - 5:00 pm with family activities Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday.
Activities £2 each and trail £1 each.
Entry to the museum is FREE with a £5 suggested donation.

Housed in Taunton’s historic castle ?, the Museum of Somerset tells the county's fascinating story from prehistoric times ⏳ to the present day. Within the 12th century castle walls you’ll find nine amazing themed galleries, each with its own distinctive character. Plus great family visitor facilities, all situated within the town centre.
? Our ‘must see’ exhibits include a 200 million year old Plesiosaur fossil (a type of marine reptile); the impressive Low Ham Roman mosaic; a stunning Bronze Age Gold Torc and the Frome Hoard of more than 50,000 Roman coins. The museum also houses The Somerset Military Museum.
Once you've enjoyed the Sci-Fi themed activities, trail and Doctor Who Art exhibition why not stop for refreshments at the Museum café. ☕? The Courtyard Café showcases some of Somerset’s great-tasting produce. Take your pick from morning coffees and pastries, freshly-made light lunches, afternoon teas and cake. There is both indoor and outdoor seating.
