About this Event

The renown of “the famous Major Rogers” was such that he became at one time the single best-known American on both sides of the Atlantic — even attaining what George Washington had sought, yet never achieved. Robert Rogers was a famous frontiersman who rose to fame during the French and Indian War and then sided with the British during the American Revolutionary War. But who was this frontier farmer, raised in Dunbarton, New Hampshire? Thirty years after his death in obscurity in May 1795, his exploits were mined by James Fenimore Cooper for his best-selling novels — and again in the 20th and 21st centuries for other novels, histories, movies, and television. George Morrison takes us on his journey from colonial North America to the 21st century.
