This January, The Record Parlour will present an extraordinary vinyl archive drawn from the life and career of Robert Oleysyck, a figure whose influence echoes through 3 decades of Las Vegas nightlife, global underground dance culture, and international airwaves.
DJ. Tastemaker. Archivist. Oleysyck didn’t just play records, he studied them, lived with them, and preserved them.
Among the most celebrated chapters of his career is his high-profile residency and deep involvement with Utopia, a venue spoken of in reverent tones. More than a club, Utopia was a movement and cultural nerve center. For countless people, Oleysyck shaped the soundtrack of people’s lives that still live vividly in collective memory.
But his history extends far beyond any single venue.
Through decades of DJing and radio mix shows, his ear reaches a global audience via his podcast “The Feel Sessions,” ranking in the top 5% of podcasts worldwide. His reputation for taste, diversity, and technical excellence made him a trusted conduit for music. As a coveted Billboard Magazine dance music reporter and a member of the elite Balance Record Pool, he received a constant stream of promos from leading European and international labels.
But this isn’t only a working DJ’s library. Robert bought Deeper. Wider. Beyond.
He collected as a historian would - chasing context, movement, emotion, and sonic stories. The result is a fearless, meticulously built archive of over 18,000 records, charting the evolution of club culture across eras and continents: progressive house, house in all its forms, electronica, breaks, tech house, techno, trance… alongside a stunning collection of 80s alternative, new wave, goth, industrial, and so much more.
