About this Event
Robert attended Michiana Christian Camp in his youth where he met Shelley Wolfe. She had known his mother Ruth, as a cabin mom at camp. They began dating at the 1969 Rival Fire Tent Crusade at the South Bend 4H fairground and attended Michiana together that summer as a couple. They were married in 1973. Meghan was born in 1980, Brooke in 1983, Robert joined the MCC board in 1984, and Sean was born in 1991.
Robert and Shelley were the deans of First Chance Camp for several years. As a couple, they both attended nearly all registrations for over thirty years: Robert as cashier and Shelley assisting the weekly nurses. Shelley was the Head Nurse at Michiana for over thirty years. Robert was known as an icecream scooping aficionado at the Ice Cream Social for decades. While in his time on the board he supported six directors. He served as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and President of the Board throughout his tenure. He enjoyed working with the board, deans, staff and fellowship of supporting churches through his forty years of serving on the camp board.

First Chance Camp was launched by Robert's cousin, Ken Bradburn, who passed the torched to Robert the second year. The photo is First Chance Camp in 1987. It features the majority of the Hennen and Wolfe clans as well as members of Fairland Christian Church.
