In this class, Coffeebar’s Senior Manager of Coffee Operations, Matt Brown, will be highlighting their latest Roastery Reserve coffee from Rwanda, and teaching you how to brew this best at home.Coffeebar is dedicated to working with local communities and coffee growers, bringing you beans with a human connection. This coffee comes from the Nova washing station in the Gicumbi district in northern Rwanda. It's led by husband and wife Agnes Mukamushinja and Felix Hitayezu, who truly have a dedication to the social responsibilities of the community, as well as gender equality.
The Nova Official mission statement reads: ‘Being a women-centered washing station, Nova Coffee is committed to developing the neighboring community into specialized coffee farmers that produce the highest quality coffee as well as to enhancing the social cohesion in order to create more jobs and eradicate poverty’. This coffee is dear to Matthew, being a beloved coffee first introduced to him in Sydney Australia. When it became known that this coffee was available through US importer Crop to Cup, it was an easy purchase decision for Coffeebar, knowing the true commitment of the Nova Coffee team to community and sustainability.
