**Dip takes place at 1pm, on day registration opens at 11am**Come and join your fellow dippers, as we brave the chilly North Wales waters on New Years Day. This event is in aid of the RNLI, raising funds to help our crew at Rhyl Lifeboat Station to continue saving lives at sea.
** This is a Dip - not a Swimming Event **
Participants are encouraged to pre-register online as there may be a limited number of spaces available on the day.
On the day, even if you registered online, you will be required to collect a wristband from the registration desk.
To be eligible to take part in the event, those registering on the day must complete a registration document which will be available in the Lifeboat station.
The registration desk will open at 11:00 and close at 12:30. This will allow plenty of time for all participants to assemble on the prom from 12:45 onwards, where all 'dippers' will be checked in by event marshals before the klaxson is sounded at 1pm. All participants will receive a safety briefing by the Coxswain before entering the water.
RNLI Volunteers will be positioned in the sea, to ensure that nobody ventures out too far. Nobody will be allowed to swim or spend too long in the sea as part of this event.
Every registered participant will be required to check out once they have completed the dip, before receiving their medal.
This event is open to all age groups, although young children must be supervised by a responsible adult.
Those wanting to get even more into the spirit can wear fancy dress, with a prize being awarded for the best fancy dress. Any fancy dress must NOT impede or risk their own safety in the water, when it gets wet.
