The Royal Life Saving Society’s NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) is the most widely recognised lifeguard qualification in the UK.Bridport Leisure Centre are hosting a NPLQ course this May half term, on completion of the course, you will be fully qualified to work as a pool lifeguard.
Lifeguards benefit from varied working hours, which can easily fit around other commitments, the experience of working within a team, and the opportunity to progress within the leisure industry - most leisure managers start as pool lifeguards.
This certification also holds global recognition, opening doors to opportunities for employment and travel worldwide.
Course Dates:
Monday 27th May to Friday 31st May 2024
Monday 27th May 9.30am – 5.30pm
Tuesday 28th May 9.30am – 5.30pm
Wednesday 29th May 10.00am – 6.00pm
Thursday 30th May 9.30am – 5.30pm
Friday 31st May 10.00am – 6.00pm
Assessment Date: Saturday 1st June 2024
Time: 9:30am -12.30pm
Cost: £260 per candidate
Age: 16+ (on the day of the assessment)

Before joining the course, you will need to be able to complete the following:
• Jump or dive into the pool in deep water.
• Swim 50 metres in 1 minute or less.
• Swim 100 metres continuously on your front and then on your
back.
• Tread water for a minimum of 30 seconds in deep water.
• Dive down to the deepest point of the pool (Bridport Leisure
Centre is 2m).
• Climb out of the pool without the aid of steps or a ladder.
