Assessment: 26th April 2025 from 7am.

Wild Water Adventure Centre, Fenit (Daily meeting point)
Fenit Beach (Sea sessions)
Tralee Sports Complex (Pool sessions – times TBC)
Why become a Beach Lifeguard?
🌍 Internationally recognized qualification (NVBLQ) with great potential to work and travel.

⛑ Learn essential life-saving skills, including First Aid and CPR.
💪 Pre-Entry Requirements:
• Be 16 years of age.
• Must be able to meet the following basic fitness criteria:
• Jump/dive into deep water
• Swim 400m in a recommended time of 7mins 30 secs
• Have surfed several times – do not need to be proficient on their feet but be able to paddle out/ back easily.
• Swim 200m continuously on their front and back
• Run at least 400m.
• Surface dive up to 2m
• Have had previous surf lessons before coming onto the course.
• Ability to swim side stroke or inverted breaststroke.
📚 Course Content: The NVBLQ covers essential skills in:
Beach Lifeguarding Knowledge & Understanding
Life Support & First Aid
Ocean Skills
Pool Skills
The course is physically demanding and includes swimming to set times and lifting.
🎓 Endorsements:
This qualification is endorsed by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Royal Lifesaving Society (RLSS), and International Lifesaving Federation (ILSF).
