Rousay Ladies SportsLast year we established the Rousay Ladies Sports group to encourage the women of Rousay to get together for some sport, a bit of fun, a bit of competition, a lot of laughs, a few bruises.
We have been meeting on Sunday and have tried our hand at a number of varying sports. Netball is one of those sports.
Most if us have not played netball since our school days. It has been good fun and we would like to hold a session where our members can experience playing netball on a larger court.
The sports hall at the Rousay Community School is the size of a single badminton court, which is approximately one third of a full size netball court.
It is unlikely we would be able to bring two full teams worth of ladies over so we would like to open the session to other ladies within Orkney to join us.
It'll be a pretty informal session, and I will warn you... our playing has been described as "feral, but fun".
If anyone could offer their time and experience to help me run the session it would much appreciated. We are still learning and our knowledge of the rules is a little rusty.
