Fall Theatre Workshop - Creating Authentic Characters

Tailored for community theatre actors who are balancing the demands of home and work life, this workshop condenses the insights of a seasoned Saskatchewan theatre artist Mark Claxton into game-changing principles that have been developed over 20 years. This workshop is designed to help actors get the most out of their finite preparation and rehearsal time and avoid some of the common traps (overacting, cliched choices, fear of looking foolish) that we can fall into when feeling distracted or rushed. By focusing respectively on the skills of listening (to one's own character and then the other characters) and letting go, this session offers practical tools to help you break through personal barriers and bring your best work to both the rehearsal room and the stage.
