By kind permission of Baroness van Demen the Richmond Local History Society is able to offer a very special treat for garden lovers and history buffs.
Originally this was the site of the huge Palace of Richmond, home to mediaeval kings and the favourite palace of Queen Elizabeth I, all lost after the civil war.
Now the gardens that replace it feature a wide range of fascinating styles. The garden tours will be led by Mark Lucas, Doug Pinchin and Linda Duffield, who will tell the story of the Palace in an informative and light-hearted way.
The numbers are limited, and the event is only open to members of Richmond Local History Society, with a maximum of one guest for each member, and will include a sparkling wine reception and canopies on the lawn.
