Riverwood Poetry Series @ Real Art Ways will host Michelle Phuong Ho and Scott Frey on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, 7 PM, at Real Art Ways, 56 Arbor Street, Hartford, Connecticut.There will be an open mic this month for the first ten poets who sign up.
The authors’ books will be available to buy for book signing & conversation, and beer, wine, soft drinks, and snacks will be available for purchase.

Michelle Phương Hồ is the author of Bone Symphony, forthcoming from BOA Editions as a Blessing the Boats Selection in Fall 2026. Her work appears in Nat Brut, Ninth Letter, Poetry, and elsewhere, and has been recognized with the 2025 Connecticut Artistic Excellence Award, the 2024 Ninth Letter Literary Award in Poetry, the 2024 BRINK Literary Journal Award for Hybrid Writing, and the 2020 Frontier Poetry Industry Prize. Born to Vietnamese refugees, she received her MFA in poetry from NYU and lives in New Haven, CT.
Scott Frey is a poet, educator and author of Heavy Metal Nursing, which won the 2023 Tampa Review Prize for poetry. His new collection, Strange Vigil, was a winner in the Black River Chapbook Competition. Among other places, his work appears in Passages North, december magazine, The Adroit Journal, Bellevue Literary Review, and The Missouri Review, where he received the Perkoff Prize for poetry. He and his wife also run a non-profit charity, The Charlotte Frey Foundation, whose mission is to help children with multiple handicaps and life-threatening illnesses and their families improve their quality of life. He and his family live in Granby, Connecticut.
