VFW Post 8108 will hold a traditional paper target Turkey Shoot. The event will consist of 20 groups of 10 shooters with targets at 25 yards. 2 iterations will be 20 gauge shotguns for the kids (under 15) and 18 iterations with 12 gauge for the adults. Closest pellet to the center will win a prize. Prizes will be awarded to each winning shooter and a “partner” non-shooter.Shooter and Partner tickets are $5.00/ea and will be sold prior at the VFW Post as well as at the event. Sponsors will be provided tickets at the time of donation. Prizes will consist of either a frozen turkey, baked ham or pork shoulder.
Food and beverages will be available at the event consisting of an adult plate of 3 sliders (any combination of smoked turkey, baked ham and pulled pork) with a side (potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw) and a drink ($10.00). Children’s plate (under 15) two sliders with side and drink ($7.00).
Bring your own shotgun (max 680 choke). 12 Gauge shotguns will be available (free) and 20 gauge available from the venue for a rental price. Ammunition will be provided on the firing line.
SHOOTER/PARTNER: Buy a shooter ticket, win your group and you win the prize! BEWARE! You have the stress of a partner rooting you on, watching your every move and capitalizing on your skill! You don’t need to shoot a gun to participate! A Partner ticket will be sold for each target. You will win the same prize as the shooter! Trade in your ticket at the post and select your target or wait until the event and choose any available target. Buy multiple shooter/partner tickets and participate in every round!
FOOD AND BEVERAGE: Your favorite Post 8108 cooks will be providing the food. The shooter/partner prize consists of a turkey or a baked ham or pork shoulder. What better way to advertise the prizes then to serve sliders of smoked turkey, baked ham and pulled pork. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided with each meal ticket and individually during the event. Alcohol and guns are never a good mix so don’t ask!
