Please join us for our May Concert, where we’re highlighting the wonder of youth, showcasing the winners of our very first Student Concerto Competition and the colors of our orchestral instruments in Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. Whether you're a seasoned concertgoer or new to classical music, this evening promises to delight audiences of all ages.
We'll be performing:
- Coleridge-Taylor: Overture to "The Song of Hiawatha"
- Prokofiev: Violin Concerto No. 2, first mvt with Student Concerto Competition winner Valentina (14)
- CPE Bach: Flute Concerto in D minor, finale with Student Concerto Competition winner Lorien (18)
- Bartok: Viola Concerto, first mvt with Student Concerto Competition winner Edward (17)
- Britten: The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra with guest narrator
The performance ends around 8:45pm, with no intermission. Your ticket includes our post-concert pizza party held in the cafeteria, where you can mingle with our community of music makers and music lovers till 10:00pm.
