You won't want to miss our keynote speaker, Karen Barefoot, who is an accomplished basketball coach known for her energy, passion and success in building winning programs. A former standout player at Christopher Newport University, she was the first in NCAA history to score over 2,000 points and record 1,000 assists. Barefoot has coached at several institutions, including The Apprentice School, Lenoir-Rhyne, Elon, Old Dominion and UNCW, where she led teams to numerous historic achievements and NCAA appearances. Throughout her coaching career, Barefoot developed players who excelled both on the court and academically, and she is now bringing that same energy, passion and expertise as Director of Business Development for Industrial Reliability and Repair, as well as a national motivational speaker.
Our sessions will include a variety of pertinent topics spanning both acute and ambulatory settings. We are excited to offer a Clinical Toxidrome lecture in addition to mandatory education related to human trafficking. Acute care topics will focus on Acute Hypoxic Respiratory Failure, Atrial Fibrillation, Cardiomyopathy and Shock therapies, with ambulatory sessions devoted to Ortho Pearls, Parkinson’s disease, Rheumatology workup essentials and Women’s Health updates on Urinary symptoms and PCOS. .
