Meet at the end of Maple Drive! We’re partnering with the District of Squamish to host an invasive plant W**d pull and restoration event in McNaughton Park, Squamish! Celebrate BC Rivers Day with us by giving back to nature!
We’ll begin by removing invasive species, including yellow lamium, English holly, butterfly bush, and common burdock. These species threaten local biodiversity by outcompeting native plants, but with your help, we can make a difference!
No experience is necessary—we’ll provide guidance on plant identification and removal techniques.
Following the W**d pull, we’ll focus on restoration. We’ll mulch the areas where we removed lamium and butterfly bush to prevent these species from growing back. We’ll also be replanting native species in areas of bare soil along the Little Stawamus River.
